How Often Should I Brush My Teeth?

You should brush your teeth twice a day for two minutes each time. This will help prevent the plaque from building up so much, as well it will give your mouth a much-needed dosing of fluoride. I recommend that all of my patients use a fluoridated toothpaste as it is the single most helpful thing they can do to help decrease their cavity risk.

As well as brushing twice a day for two minutes, brushing should be the last thing you do during the day as well as the first thing you do in the morning. You can also be harmful to your teeth by brushing too often, too hard, or too close to when meals are eaten!
