More than 80 patients got free dental work as the University of Alberta School of Dentistry provided charitable care on Thursday.
The school’s IV conscious sedation program gives dentists from across the country and the U.S. a chance to practice what they’ve learned during the five-day clinical part of the course.
The School of Dentistry will run the same program in February and June of 2020.
Patients of the service are either low income or would not otherwise seek treatment due to a fear of needles, dentists or treatment.
Dr. Don Beeson (from Grande Prairie) works on patient Charles Harker during the U of A School of Dentistry’s IV conscious sedation course at the Kaye Edmonton Clinic, 11400 University Ave, in Edmonton Thursday Dec. 19, 2019. Over 80 patients took part in the course which provided approximately 140 treatments free of charge.David Bloom/Postmedia
